What is the chikungunya virus?

I live in india and here i see that every day many peoples are suffering from chikungunya virus.

    Chilung gunya virus will develop some symptoms. Symptoms usually begin 3–7 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito. The most common symptoms are fever and joint pain. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain.

    best to keep standing water away from areas where mosquitos breed. Or add mosquito repellant sprinkles to water that restricts the larva to form into adults . Also wear repellant when outside day and night.
