White patches still there, should I reduce clob to every other day or keep daily?

I'm newly diagnosed and have been prescribed Dermovate, which I had to push for as initially the person I saw tried to send me away with nothing. Her instructions about usage were pretty vague and, frankly, I have no confidence that she knew what she was talking about.

I was told to use daily for two weeks, then reduce to every other day for two weeks, then recuce to twice weekly, etc.

So my two weeks of daily use is up, but my white patches have not changed. Should I continue to use daily until they have gone? Advice please.

I had to use the stronger steroid for a couple of months before going onto a maintenace low strength. Although I did not use it every day after the initial 3 or 4 weeks. I emailed my gynae with what was happening and she advised me by return email. 😊

I also had to use daily for a longer period.  Did you see a GP or a specialist?

I initially saw a specialist, but it was a registrar who gave me the biopsy results. She didn't seem to know what she was talking about. She said I was 'asymptomatic' despite there being two good-sized white patches!

Hi Joan yes you need to carry on until the white patches go, this can take a while. I see a dermatologist and she always advises this. Just use a small amount  and preferably the ointment rather than the cream as it has less parabens apparently. It is the only thing that works so keep at it X

I think I would use it twice a day to be honest with you, at least for a week to see if you see any changes, and of course only use a pearl sized amount. After two weeks you should be seeing some reduction I would have thought of the white patches.  I can tell you what I did, which was to use the cream twice a day for just over a week and then i reduced it to daily use for a while, until the white plaques had gone.  Or email your doctor and see what she says, i tend to listen to myself nowadays as I am usually correct.
