Cardiovascular or aerobic exercise is a key component in our quest to stay healthy. Not only does aerobic exercise help manage your weight, it also boosts your mood, decreases stress and is essential in maintaining good cardiovascular (heart) health.
There is no one best exercise for everyone. The benefits to your health and heart in particular, are similar as long as the type of exercise satisfies a few specific goals:
- The activity must be aerobic and use large muscle groups for a sustained amount of time
- You must perform it for 30 to 60 minutes, most days of the week
- You have to like it!
