The Myers Briggs Test: Are you an Extrovert or Introvert?

What is Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

In essence, the MBTI indicator is a personality test. It questions you on how you think and perceive the world, and then gives you a type. This type is one of sixteen, and the test decides your type by working out if you are one of the following; “Extrovert or Introvert”, “ Sensing or Intuition”, “Feeling or Thinking” and “Judging or Perceiving”.

From this result comes a four-letter word, telling you your preference in each of the four sections; there by giving you your personality type. For example, you could be an INTP (Introvert-Intuitive-Thinking-Perceiving) or an ENFJ (Extrovert-Intuitive-Feeling-Judging).

Are you Extroverted (E) or Introverted (I)? Where does your energy come from?

Both Extroverts and Introverts are an indication of where you gain your energy from. Extroverts are often seen as the more prominent of the two, they gain energy from socialising and communicating with people and will often be more outgoing.

Introverts instead get energy from having alone time, and thrive more in one-to-one interaction then in large groups. This in turn will often make them appear quiet or reserved and at times more passive then their louder counterparts.

But this in no way means Introverts are shy and Extroverts are loud. An Introvert can still love being around people, but they will normally feel tired afterwards. Whereas, some Extroverts may like being alone at times but will need other people to build their energy back up. People who are more Extroverted often love a life of variety and constant change. But most Introverts will love a life of depth and will seek meaning to it.
