The Optical Consumer Complaints Service (OCCS) is an independent body set up to mediate and try to settle complaints from members of the public who are not satisfied with the goods or services received from a registered optician.
The OCCS website explains what you should do if you are not happy, in any way, about the services you have. The advice can be viewed and downloaded from their website.
When OCCS gets your complaint they will try to resolve it as quickly as possible.
Data protection legislation requires the OCCS to have the complainant's authority to act and a form giving the OCCS written authority can be downloaded from the website.
Please note that OCCS does not deal with matters that fall within the remit of the Health Authority and Primary Care Trust, nor can the OCCS deal with matters relating to the professional conduct of an optometrist.
