SEDBA is a charitable organisation which exists to promote excellence in services for young people who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. It campaigns for better services for children and young people experiencing SEBD and better support for those who work with them. It provides support to professionals in the field, representing them at regional and national levels, contributing to government consultations and research initiatives.
SEDBA is committed to increasing social inclusion through making mainstream schooling more supportive.
Members have been at the forefront of practice-focused research in the field, publishing books, resources and government-funded research reports. They are provided with up-to-date information, support and professional development through a magazine/newsletter, a research journal, networking and the website.
SEBDA provides accredited specialist training at Master's and first degree level in partnership with the University of Leicester and stages well-received professional development events across Britain.
