Thrive is a small national charity that uses gardening to change the lives of disabled people. Thrive offers help to disabled people who want to garden at home, on an allotment, in a community setting or who attend structured therapy programmes at Thrive's garden projects. The organisation also has a website at www.carryongardening.org.uk.
Gardening can help individuals accomplish many things. It can help rebuild a person's strength after an accident or illness, or provide a purposeful activity for someone coping with a difficult period in their life. It can bring profound change from improvements in physical health to emotional well-being. Ultimately the changes people make can help them overcome everyday obstacles and challenges they may face in their lives.
