4. Accept uncertainty

One of the unavoidable truths about being human is that life is uncertain. So if we develop a tendency to worry, there will always be something to focus on. Instead, try to accept the things you cannot change, focusing on the here and now. Look at areas of your life in which you can find control and focus instead on the things you can alter for the better.

5. Have faith in yourself

Write a list of all the difficult things you've overcome or coped with in the past. In this way, you are building a bank of evidence that proves that when the worst happens, you can manage. Developing more faith in your ability to deal with difficult situations as and when they arrive should give you more confidence day to day. Repeat the mantra: "I can handle it!"
