Exploding head syndrome - not quite as scary as it sounds

EHS and sleep paralysis

According to the same CBS report, "the condition sometimes occurs in tandem with another odd disorder known as isolated sleep paralysis. People with isolated sleep paralysis remain in a dream-like state with their eyes open, unable to move or speak as they wake up. About a third of people with exploding head syndrome also experience isolated sleep paralysis."

Many people have reported that they experience the symptoms of exploding head syndrome more when they are in a heightened state of stress.

As of now, there appears to be no well-established treatment for this disorder, but hopefully knowing that it is real may help those who suffer from it feel a bit better.
