Granny was right. I can literally still hear my own grandmother quoting this line. But do you know what; I think it is good advice. As soon as I go on a diet, I absolutely crave whatever it is that diet forbids (obviously usually chocolate. Or wine. Or pizza...) Sooner or later the diet gets abandoned and I make up for lost time. We all know all too well the foods that aren't going to do us any good. In order to stick long-term to any healthy eating plan we have to allow ourselves treats of the things we really like. Life's too short, after all. The trick is to just have them little and not too often. If you can pull that one off, you're a winner.
