2. Follow the diet that works for you as an individual
I promise that some diets work for some people and not for others; whereas others are the other way round. I'm an Atkins girl - cutting the carbs really works for me - but I have a friend who tried it and didn't lose a pound. She shed a couple of stones on the 5:2 diet whereas I put weight on every time I try it. (Well, it says you can eat what you like on the non-fasting days, and I… er… do!) It depends what you like eating; on your eating patterns, and on your individual metabolism. Another day I'll talk you through each diet and how to work out which one is for you.
