Green smoothie recipe | Henry Dimbleby

This is one for the serious health enthusiast. Some people think this smoothie takes the notion of healthiness one step too far, but it is curiously moreish. It is made possible by the fact that raw kale is so sweet – try biting off a piece. It makes for a ridiculously wholesome start to the day.

Serves 2

4 kale leaves, stalks removed
150ml water
250ml milk or dairy-free alternative such as rice, soya or nut milk
1 banana
1 pear
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 level tbsp raw cacao powder (or cocoa powder)

Start by blending the kale with the liquid until there are no more chunks or bits. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend well.
