How to make bread sauce


300ml of milk (semi-skimmed)

30g butter

1 onion (chopped and peeled)

1 bay leaf

3 cloves

2 garlic cloves

75g white breadcrumbs

150ml double cream

Salt and pepper


- Chop and slice the onion and garlic cloves

- Simmer the milk, butter, onion, garlic, bay leaf and cloves in a saucepan. Do this for 15 minutes

- Strain all the liquid and then place back into the sauce pan

- Add in the breadcrumbs. Then after 2 minutes add the cream. Keep it on the hob for another 3 minutes and then turn the heat off

- Add seasoning if needed, then place the mixture in a bowl and serve
