How to make flapjack


100g butter (and small amount for greasing)

60g brown sugar

160g porridge oats/rolled oats

2 ½ tbsp. golden syrup


- Preheat the oven to 180°C

- Grease a baking tin with butter, then place a baking sheet in the tin and grease the sheet as well

- Add the sugar, butter and syrup to a saucepan and heat up. Do this until the butter has melted and sugar has dissolved

- Then add in the oats and stir for 3 minutes. After this is done place the mixture in the backing tray

- Bake in the oven for 25 - 35 minutes or until a golden colour

- Take out of the oven and leave to cool for 10 minutes. Then cut up into small slices and serve
