How to poach an egg


1 egg (preferably fresh)

Mild vinegar

Salt and pepper (optional)

A small measuring cup


- Fill a sauce pan half way up with water. Place on the hob and bring to a boil

- Then reduce the heat and let the water simmer

- For the best results, add a splash of mild vinegar to the water. This won’t add any taste to the egg

- Crack an egg into a small measuring cup

- Then ease the egg into the simmering water

- Cook for 2-5 minutes depending on how runny you want your yolk
