UK sources of information and / or support
See the Medicines section for leaflets about individual medicines. The links below are to general sites about medicines. There are also links to three drug interaction checkers, but note that these are on American sites where drug names may differ from those in the UK and Europe.
The electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC) contains up to date, easily accessible information about medicines licensed for use in the UK.
Developed by eMC, the Medicine Guides have been developed to help you understand your medicines and to take them safely.
The Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Association (MHRA) is responsible for regulating all medicines and medical devices in the UK by ensuring they work and are acceptably safe.
Run by the MHRA and the Commission on Human Medicines, the Yellow Card Scheme, is used to collect information from both health professionals and the general public on suspected side effects.
