*Drs Wont Help* Long battle with extremely - sore hands

Hi Everyone,

I've had this skin condition mainly affecting my hands for a few years. I get flare ups that last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months, then my hands go back to normal for a couple of weeks max before the cycle starts again. I've tried several emollient creams which were suggested by aq dermatologist a couple of years ago with little success, I've also tried several moisturisers, coconut oil and cortisone cream (I am on a full steroid replacement dose for type 2 Addison's disease which means there is a limit to how much extra cortisone I can have from creams etc.)

The pain I get from my hands is excruciating; they blister up as you will see in the pictures and randomly start bleeding, even touching them with water feels like acid. The Drs I've seen basically say they are not too sure what it is and there is nothing they can do so I'm looking to see if anyone has any idea from the pictures what the skin condition could be called and also any tips/ideas on creams, home remedies etc that could help.

What I have  learned from my condition is that finding the right doctor is hard. Did your  biopsies and blood work reveal anything? By now I am sure they are able to rule certain things out. As far as home remedies, you might want to be a little careful with what you put on yourself until you  find out what's going on. I learnt that vaseline is about as good as it get. I was using tree tea oil, baking soda, vineger, rubbing alcohol and all kinds of stuff until I found out they were making my condition worst. I was itching so bad and with the pain  I could not sleep. You might want to make a list of your underlying health conditions. Are you seeing the right doctor specialist besides your primary care and dermatologist? Allergist, Oncologist, Rheumatologist, etc...God knows I feel your pain and what you're going through.

Hi Brown, Thanks so much for your reply. I'm in the UK so we have the NHS so I really can only see the doctors they refer me to, They sent me to a dermatologist once and my appointment lasted under 5 minutes.....They said it's just an idiopathic skin condition and no real treatment available. My GP won't send me back and dermatology won't see me again, I have quite a few health issues and they took many years of constantly nagging my doctors about to get any diagnoses, In all honesty I've shown my hands and a file of pictures of my hands that I keep in my phone to a few GP's, 3 endocrinologists, 1 dermatologist, they all have said they can only prescribe emollients or cortisone cream....Barring that they're not willing to investigate any further. This has got me to the point I'm at now where I really have to go my own route if I ever have any chance of some relief. It took me 5 years of telling my doctors I believed I had Addison's disease before the would give me the test for it, years of going into adrenal crisis and being told it was panic attacks so as far as skin they seem to think it's too trivial to bother about here in lovely Glasgow.
