So far my recovery been going quite well.

Does any one have heavy jelly legs. ? Just wandering around the house I feel so fatigued . I'm not really doing anything as hubby been home . Not used to feeling so weak and tired.

Thanks for all your replies re bleeding it's very light and I don't think an infection as I don't have a temperature. I do however have a constant dull ache a bit like period pain which I am presuming is normal ,

Nice to be able to come here and chat to those going through the same.

Love to all Kar x

Kar you're body is telling you to rest. It's understandable you'll feel this way, you've had major surgery. The dull ache is normal but for the first 2 weeks you should do absolutely nothing apart from the little walks around the house. Absolutely no lifting anything heavier than a kettle with enough water to make a cup of tea. Look at the South Tees information on the Genitourinary home page under the heading Useful Resources if you haven't already done so.

Matron I'm 3 weeks post of for an a@p repair. I'm getting more discomfort now than I did first couple of weeks. I would describe it as a burning/spiky feeling with slight heaviness if that makes sense. I had a little peek in the mirror and could see something that resembled a prolapse that was almost coming out of top of vagina. Not in opening , sorry not v good with description. V concerned as I had a failed op in May.

Hello caroline. Very often the pain and discomfort gets worse around the 3rd to 4th week because the sutures are knitting together and tightening around the wound. It often causes ladies to worry, obviously but it's perfectly normal. The burning/spiky feeling sounds as though that's what is the cause so please don't worry. The swelling at the top of the vagina is almost definitely swelling from the surgery and again is common. I tell ladies not to look because it looks very unsightly down there and the swelling tends to resemble another prolapse. What you describe sounds normal to me so try not to worry and keep resting xx

Hi Caroline. I'm 5 weeks post now. I had a exactly same symptom burning feeling at week 3 !!! I had a loooooong day at Emergency. I hope I knew it is normal as Matron mentioned. At Emergency, I was given 2 set of strong painkillers there and couple of Paracetamol at home. The burning feeling has gone since then. So try painkiller.you might stop already at week 3 though.

Hi Kar. It seems you are recovering very quick. Lucky you! All I could do for the first 2 weeks was that I checked the clock and waited for next painkiller time in the bed. I tried to walk but tooooo painful. I moved to a room which is the closest to the toilet and kitchen to save walking distances.

I'm 5 weeks now and still tired after walking in the shopping centre. Kar, you are 10 days. please take it easy. You will getting back your energy a bit later.
