Has anybody noticed a good difference increasing the dose from 10 mg to 20 mg. I'm still having low moods and some anxiety. They want me to increase it but I'm afraid to.

I increased my dosage without consulting my doctor, because I was having the same problem. It worked for me. I travel for work and couldn't drive all the way home to see my doctor. But this is my second time taking Celexa. The first time my doctor doubled my dosage after eight months. I'm sure you'll be fine

Hi Daisy, I would call your doctor first, but I really don’t think it would be a problem for you. Nice slow moves like this...going from 10 to 20 mg should be fine. You “might” feel some side effects...but everyone is different, and you may not feel any at all. If you do, your anxiety “MIGHT” go up slightly for a short time, but as you know already, it will level right out again, just like before, and you will be just fine. But, give your doctor a call, as they do need to be kept up to speed on any changes you make!! Good Luck Daisy! XO

Hey Daisy...I know you are afraid, but I really do think you will be ok. You can always go back to your 10 mg. if you want to. You can wait on some more posts, see what the others have to say. It's a nice small increase, and you should be just fine. LIke I said, you might not even have any side effects at all. Think positive, you have already been on the 10mg, and noticed some good results, and you know that back sliding some is normal. I've been on it for 3 years, and have done well on the 20 mg. But, like I said, everyone is different. The doctor would not have said it was ok, if they didn't think you could handle it. It's up to you. I would at least give it a try for a while. Good Luck!

Are you on it for depression? I'm moving to another state in about 6 days so I don't want to feel lousy during the move but who knows maybe I won't feel any side effects. I have depression and anxiety. I just been feeling low and tired with no energy. And not really enjoying things.

Yes, both here too. I've done very well for 3 years on 20 mg.. But just in the last week, my Mom has gotten very sick, and she has moved away just before that, so things have all of a sudden hit me. I am thinking I need a boost in mg's from 20 to maybe 30. I too need to call my doctor. I keep thinking I can work it out...I should be listening to my own advice! LOL My Mom and I are very close, and she is now 83, and I can't stand that she is so far away. She lived only 2 minutes from me, so if she needed me, I could be there in just a minute, now it would be 12 hours if I drive, or if I fly, it would mean changing plane and hours before I could get there. I am not used to her being sick either, she has always been so healthy. I am not handling it well at all.
Sorry...my answer was just supposed to be Yes to both, and that was it.
I know too know there could be side effects, but I did well in the begining, so I have no reason to think other wise. We can do it together! How does that sound?
