10th week of Fluoxetine

Hi

I just thought that I would update and let you know about my journey so far in the hope that it will help others. I am in my 10th week of taking Fluoxetine for anxiety. 10 weeks ago I was incapable of functioning normally and had gone from being a bubbly, busy, energetic person to lying on the sofa in my pj's. Making a cup of tea was an accomplishment!!! This weekend I travelled to a family function on the train, stayed in a B&B, attended a party and had a fabulous time!!! I have also driven many miles over the last few weeks visiting family and friends and I have been on holiday too. The difference in 10 weeks on this medication has been massive. I have had days where I have experienced background anxiety but on the whole I am much more like myself! I am writing this so that those beginning taking this medication have hope of feeling better. I didn't imagine at the start that I would ever get better or be normal again. You have to push on through the first few weeks, managing the symptoms however you can as you will feel so much better. I take 20mg each night. Hope this helps someone, somewhere. Sally xxx
