Hi All
I've been in Cit for 12 weeks at 10mg (1st Nov) , was rough for the first month+ or so then just after xmas i hit a really good run of about 4 weeks+
I'm taking cit for Anxiety but more the physical symptoms, i get heart flutters which sends me into full panic mode, went to A+E when it first happend back in August, as thought i was having a heart attack, they did an EKG (and whilst doing this i had 2 heart flip/flops/Flutters) they also did a blood test for heart attack all came back normal. Fast forward and ive been on beta blockers (propanapol) they were horrible, ive had full blood work and also a 24hr holter all came back as satisfactory (docs said no one gets a good 24hr EKG) i had a total of 16 extra beats which worried me until he said people who are bad have 1000's. So the docs agreed to put me on Cit in November, was rough for the first 2 months odd then had a good 4 weeks, now this week, week 12 ive started to get weird new symptoms, when i feel an ectopic beat (flutter/flip flop) my hands and feet either go ice cold or tingle/electricity pins/needles feeling.
Has anyone experienced this after 12 weeks? i never had this before in the previous 11 weeks so its really unnerved me also is this a normal blip/setback, its lasted all week with different levels of intensity.
Many thanks
Stuart

Hi Stuart
Having a blip myself this week on my journey, on about 16 weeks and had a tough few days. So this can still happen and like you i had a great previous 4-6 weeks.
Last time i was on celexa i had a weird heartbeat in my nose, dont ask me why or how but it eventually went.. I know it is easier said than done but you have to just acknowledge the feelings and let it happen, you can also talk to yourself when this is happening and say i am here and safe right now.. something like this to ground you..
It should eventually leave.. The fact you have some good weeks is a very good sign and you are on the right path..

Cheers for the reply Thomas
Yeah i think those 4 or so weeks made me think recovery was a linear line, i just feel like im back to where i was back in August, im not sure if the palps/ectopic beats are due to the anxiety or the anxiety is due to them? im hoping the anxiety is causing them and i just need to stay the path with the meds and see this week as a bad week?
i dont really want to increase the dose like most of us i think we would all prefer to be med free.
Hoping your week improves mate

There are a few people on here all at the same time going through a blip after maybe 4/5 weeks of feeling good.. think this pretty natural from the sound of things..
You seem to have good success on only 10mg which is great, this is a pretty low dose, 20mg is the therapeutic dose they call it.. most people go to at least 20mg.. but if 10mg is working for you then keep going on that..
What is happening is just anxiety, they will pass.. you just have to learn to ignore them.. or accept them.. there is a good Book called the dare response which talks about a lot of things.. you might learn some tricks to deal with moments like this..

Well i dont want to jinx myself but yesterday (Saturday 21st) i was ok no flip/flops ectopic beats, i did start taking magnesium as i read that can help with the heart, coupled with the fact i take Lansoprazole (ppi) which i know strips magnesium from your system, also as you say perhaps its par for the course for our bodies and the healing process but it really shook me up and my faith in recovery not gonna lie.
Ill have a look for that book and thank you once again for the reply mate.
