Hi Anna
Nice to chat. I am 12 weeks post RHR. Back at work for 2 weeks . Feeling so much better but I find after 3 or 4 days as if the batteries have been takenice out and I know I need to rest. However doing almost all the things I did before my bone on bone problem but a little slower.
Physio has given me a basic programme to get back to gym next week and am up to 8000 paces on my fit bit.
Hip clunk's a bit and twinges from scar but I feel great !!! X

I am about 7 months post my 1st (posterior) and 9 days post my 2nd. Looking back at my notes, I was enthused by my progress but frustrated by the complications of my 2nd hip including fatigue. However, I was lucky to be retired. So no worries about commutes and stresses of work.
However, these exist in retired life too between life events in our family, ups and downs of volunteer work and supporting your network, and keeping up with physio for hip 1 and 2. Another poster below had a great analogy - as if your batteries had been taken out so you know you need to rest.
Since my 2nd hip has been done this is even more true.
Good luck.

Hi Anna, I'm a bit behind you, 10 weeks post op. Doing fine, been popping in to work a bit, starting properly this week. I'm lucky, I only work 3 days a week. Still a bit achy at times, but improving. Cycled to work this week, it felt amazingly comfortable compared with pre op! Wishing you all the best.

I'm eleven weeks post op and doing pretty well. Been back at work three weeks, first two were on slightly reduced hours. It's manically busy too and I'm finding it difficult to take the breaks I need. I'm desk bound most of the day. It's good to be back though, I'd never thought I'd have said that. I think I was a bit depressed and it's better having the office banter etc than sitting home alone.
I've just started going to the gym, I didn't do this before the op but I got a free three month gym pass. Can only walk on treadmill and cycle though really.
I'm quite slow when out walking but I'm getting better every week. Still tired though. New need to listen to our bodies and rest if we need to.
Take it easy 😃

Nothing wrong with retiring if you can. You are absolutely right - it is worth risking all the gains you've made. And a young 63 could sure tear a strip through retirement. WHOOOOOEEEE.
Gonce for it Anna!
Big hugs,
