    Hi Paul in.

Sorry to hear things aren't quite right. Has this started recently or been there throughout.

If just started then I would get it checked out just to make sure.

If been there throughout, have you had your year post op check and was it there then ?

    Dear Pauline

That's very disappointing for you. I would be inclined to try as long hot morning shower or soak in a hot bath to relax your muscles followed by your exercises.

Exercises and walking are key to a successful recovery. If you have any hint of a limp please use two crutches until you have built up sufficient muscle strength to be walking with a good hair.

    Good luck Richard

      Thanx RichardKen

I dont have a limp with instep in shoe, only without it.

Part of my prob,is they took so long 2 do it,cos of my age (52) they kept putting it off,by time they did it i cld hardly walk 4 the pain!!

Good morning Pauline.  I'm about 13 months out now from a revision after dislocating my first hip last July.   I too experienced the stiff hip and the unusual feeling of my right hip every step I took.  The swelling as well.   I saw the dr and he commented on how my leg had gotten bigger prior to surgery.  Didn't think then but I thought later how can that be?  My thigh prior to surgery was about 1/2 inch/1 inch smaller. And I could not of been able to bulk that leg up at gym!  I was 6 weeks non weight bearing after revision and when I finally was able to go to gym again I was taking it very slow.   So I've asked my pain dr for an MRI on my thigh to see if any thigh going on as I told him I feel this thigh swollen, not the whole thigh but just below incision and side of thigh  as well as around hip. Is your whole leg swelling or just in thigh?   Icing helps with swelling.  I'm still icing too.  The stiffness is still there but not as bad.   I find the warm water helps.  Heat helps. I just started going into whirlpool at gym.  Really helps.  As well as steam room.   I know it's hard.  It maybe the muscles are still healing.  If you were short before surgery and have back most of your length could also have impact on the stiffness as the muscles, tendons and nerves are being stretched.   Have you tried massaging?  Wishing you all the best and God's blessings to you for a speedy recovery and healing. Hugs 🤗 Linda

Is it possible your hiking your hip, stand in front of a mirror, full length if possible, put thumbs on top of pelvic bone and see if one side is higher
