18 days after surgery 2

my wife just reminded that my healing may be different due to me being a diabetic. Type 2 but under control with a1c of 6.2. does anybody have any experience being a diabetic and recovering from turp surgery?

    I am the opposite. Hypoglycemic. Blood sugar low all the time. Lol.

    Hi. I'm on insulin and had a HoLEP op 2 years ago with no concerns. As long as your HBa1C is good which yours is then there should be no difference from a non-diabetic ref recovery

      thanks for the info. i have always been told my my GP that all things heal diffferent being a diabetic. How was your post surgical recovery?

    Hi. Sounds like your GP doesn't know much about diabetes. He's probably thinking about overweight T2s who don't control their blood sugar well. My op recovery went very well. I only had the catheter in a for a day and was peeing easily and without much stinging after a few days. Apart from a little blood even at 5 weeks and of course the retro ejaculation I've had no issues at all. I did have occasional urine spotting for a month or so but that stopped long ago. I hope your recovery goes well.
