2 month long outbreak?!

Hi! So, the story goes as the title explains. I was informed i had HSV when I was 16. i'm now 25 and finally with someone who loves me despite this fact. but anyways. 2 months ago I went on a camping trip and used baby wipes (There were no bathrooms) and when i got home I had an outbreak. I thought it to be normal but now it's two months later and it still hasn't healed. I've done the meds (pills) 3x and i'm on the cream now and it's still not going away. I've tried explaining to my doctor that it has been 2 months and he says that it's impossible, but long behold here it is! Has anyone experienced something like this? and if so what can I do. I have not had any sexual contact since this began so I know it isn't because of that.... Also, Can smoking affectm the healing process of hsv? Because in the last two months i have started smoking more frequently and i'm afraid that it's because of that. but I really don't know anymore. I just want this to heal!!! Please help!

Has it been swabbed to confirm that it's herpes? 2 months for a recurrence is not normal, so it could be something else. I would go to a doctor. No, smoking should not have any significant impact.

I've been to the doctor twice but he hasnt swabbed it because it looks like an outbreak and feels like an outbreak but it's the length of time that gets everyone confused. If it doesnt go away by this weekend, i'll go back and have him retest it and see if it's something else... gosh i hope it's not!

I would ask to have it swabbed, because that is really not normal for herpes. If it turns out to be herpes, then you may need a high dosage of meds. Although smoking shouldn't have a significant impact, try cutting it out and being extra healthy to see if that helps any.
