2 months of suffering with constant dizziness and headaches! Please help!

So one day 2 months ago all of a sudden had a very weird what felt like a wave of sickness, dizziness headache, sweats, I literally felt like I was gonna pass out come over me when I was at work. It was like a switch was turned on or off and I had to go outside to get some air. I got really panicky cos ive never had that happen before. It was horrendous. Ever since then I've had a wide range of horrible symptoms that are seriously effecting my life. A constant dizziness. I literally feel I'm drunk 24/7. Really bad headaches that can be either be behind my eyes, the side of my head or the back of my head. I have zero energy all the time. It's a struggle to keep my head up, I just wanna lie down all the time. I feel weak and sick constantly, some days I can't eat. My eyes feel heavy and I'm just not with it. Over the last 2 months I've just been getting worse which is making me really anxious and panicky. I wouldn't wish this on anyone! I've had to cancel social events, all my exercise classes and I don't wanna do anything cos I feel so awful all the time.
So far had many docs appointments, 2 lots of tablets that have made me feel worse. Currently trying accupuncture which isn't doing anything. Been referred to ent which isn't till the end of the month. My life has been put on hold and I fear I'll never get better. As the weeks go on I feel myself falling into a deeper darker hole of dizziness hell! Any help/advice would be much appriciated.

Hi Kelly, Just curious of your age. These symptoms could be perimenopause...🤔

Hi I've had my symptoms since april. Sometimes it gets better, and comes bavk. I have all the symptoms as you plus visual distirbances. Like they won't focus properly. At my worst, I could barley get off couch, not eat (lost 10 pds) since then, headaches wrnt too bad, but fullness in head. Blurred vision etc. It's absolutely terrible amd sooo many ppl have these issues. I was prescribed bentahistamine, and haven't had to take ot again until today, but I only take when needed. I saw ent and he's said it wasn't an issue for him. I also get shakey weak etc...so just started checking my sugar levels with glucose machine. So far they seem ok. Had all blood, ct, mri, ent, eye doc x2 aND currently at balance clinic doing vestibluar testing. Try not too stress too much, it only makes it worse. Easier said than done I know!!

What were you prescribed? I'm from ontario canada. If an ENT suspects an inner ear issue, he'll send you for more testing. Mine first guy didnt, but I changed ent and the guy I found was great. Still working with him, but he's trying to figure it out. A lot of docs say it's from stress, and yes it may be, but I wanted everything g ruled out first.

I've also got mild ringing but not bothersome. Did start with all this crap too. See If you can get a refferal to a dizzy clinic if you have one in your area. My ent was crap so got switched to a diff one that specializes in it. Vestibular issues. Do you have issues with driving? Or grocery stores? I did. Felt like the products on the shelf were going by too fast and it would mess me right up. I barley did anything with my kids this summer because it kept me from going anywhere far. It's the worst. I'm 36 amd will be checking for premenopause too. Docs havent mentioned it though...

Driving is not too bad and I only go short journeys. It does get bad shopping so I've been avoiding going and just ordering online. I can't remember which tablets I've tried previously but at the minute I'm taking betahistine dihydrochloride. Only been on them 4 days, Starting with just 1 a day as the other tablets made me feel worse straight away. I also feel like I've lost my summer, had loads of plans but they all went out the window. It's seriously ruining my life now. I have been told I've got scarring in my ears don't know if that has anything to do with things. Will the ent have a proper look inside my ears? Not just what a gp does?

The first ENT I had did the same thing as doc. Walk in a straight line, tilted me back to watch my eye for nystagmus (eye flutter) etc...they do that tilt test to look for bppv. The crystals in your ears that can move and cause eye and balance issues...I didn't have that. He told me of my mri came back clear that there was nothing anyone could do for me cuz he didn't think it was inner ear issue. He was crap and made me feel worse. I found a new one, and he did a bunch of tests. Ear pressure test in booth, a Goggle test for nystagmus, and a test where they flush your ears with water to check how your ears and brain compensate with eachother. Got dizzy for a few seconds with that test, but it goes away.
So far results are normal, but there is a few others that they do that arnt covered by health care here so they try to rule out other stuff first. Tinnitus (ear ringing) test isnt covered in ontario etc..
The last few days have had a headache and pressure in back of skull with fullness. Not sure if it's a cold coming on or something else starting. I can even drink anymore because ot makes symptime wayyy worse amd last long after. Wasn't much of a drinker, but would like to enjoy one once aND a while
Are you in canada?

The ent will look up your nose woth a scope. The second guy went right in and down the back with a camera, and flushed one ear out because of build up. They can only see as much as a regular doc. But can do diff things and tests to rule inner ear issues out. I've had CT amd mri to rule anything bad out and it's all come clear like most people on here with these symptoms.
I have neck issues too. Slight spinal stenosis but I go to physio for it and it helps woth headaches. Maybe get an mri done to see if it's a neck issue. They can do your neck and head at the same.time.

I'm from the UK. Not too sure how the NHS here would do their testing ad how far they would go into it. I've cut out all caffeine and alcohol at the minute. I had 1 drink last weekend and it knocked me for 6! Horrendous!

i have had very similar issues since May. Hospitalized 2x - diagnosed first BPPV then Vestibular nueritis. Constant fog and couldn't care for my child for months. Saw ENT and nuerologist. Both said I would get better with time. I didn't. Felt like I had a brain injury. I was doing PT with someone who specializes in Vestibular issues. I did my own research and realized that I had been getting a lot of headaches and noticed that vestibular migraines has similar symptoms as the other things I had been diagnosed with. I begged the ENT to try to treat this. She prescribed norotriptiline and the next day I realized that my head wasn't clear. The Neorologist was useless. I have a new appointment with the director of vestibular clinic in my city in 3. Weeks. I needed the ENT to request this. I can't grocery shop but I can go into the pharmacy. Grocery store causes me serious issues. Don't give up- you mentioned headaches behind your eyes?? Ask to try this treatment. Look it up and see if your symptoms match Vestibular migraines. Mine matched every single one. Even the numb hand I have now can be explained. If you don't get a decent response from one doctor find another. What I've realized is that these doctors don't know much about this at all. Y

I get the numbness too. Last yr it was my right arm and leg, but physio on my neck helped that, now this yr it's my left elbow to hand. And physio isn't really helping that side. I saw neuro also and he said he doesn't deal with vesitibular issues, ent does. Did a nerve/muscle conduction test and it came clear. So back to square one. I was prescribed amitriptyline by my doc for headaches which wernt even an issue for me, never even took one. They just throw meds at you when they don't even know what they aare treating. I Google that med, and it's for headaches, but also a sleep aid and anti depressant!!!! She never even told me that...in process of changing docs

I have had all of these symptoms for 8 years. I have been to every doctor at least twice. It seems my issue comes from my neck. My C1 and C2 are out of place. To get this checked you need to go to a cervical chiropractor. Not a regular chiropractor but one who specializes in cervical Chiropractic skills look up In Google C1 and dizzy to read more. This could be everybody's issue.

No problems with that I don't think. What symptoms would you have if that was a problem?
