I had my op 2 weeks ago, always suffered constipation, this resulting in op. Week one BM painful, and firm, so upped water intake, along with laxido( which I began twice daily, three days leading up to op), week two, not opening bowels, just every time I visit toilet it's like I'm leaking poo. I'm also taking lactolose daily as advised. I've been told it's normal, and probably because I have faecal imapted, so I'm now using suppositorys, as advised, and this seems to just clear away what's in my lower rectum, this comes out like water. I've been told this can be normal for a few weeks months, anyone else had this problem?

I believe this was why I had the rectocyle, suffered from it for long time. I have found if I get fiber with food, like apples. That it made it more formed. When I started counting fiber, realize it's hard to get 30 grams. Avacodo

    have a lot.

I was so worried about going after surgery. I had the doctor prescribe me Linzess, It does keep things loose. To loose if you don't get enough fiber. But it does work on the daily basic, and it's usually one or just two trips to bathroom.

I also got one of those stools to help with stress on the bottom.

Hope this wasn't TMI. Not a subject to talk with many.

Google fiber in foods, That will help to see what to eat.

Hi, thanks for your reply. It's such a vicious circle knowing what too do for the right thing. As I had never suffered with seeping poo! It's a bit daunting as I've also been told it could be overflow for faecal impaction. I've never had anything like this before, so I am slightly concerned that perhaps this is how I'm going to be now!! Not very nice or pleasant. Have you completely recovered now? And how long did it take for you to start feeling normal after this op?

There is a aloe had George aloe that's tasteless. Taste like water, I brought some of that other that was thicker, tasted like bug spray!

Do you think the lactose, isn't agreeing with you? I can't take it, makes me bloated.

Do you think you might. E blocked? And only liquid getting threw? I know there is a remedy you can do at home if you are. I'll look and see if I can find it.

Have had problems on and off since my repair a year and a half ago. Two months ago, I had a blockage in my bowel - nothing to do with prolapse problems - nil by mouth for 10 days!! When I came home from hospital I stated drinking Aloe Vera juice - it has been nothing short of miraculous !!! Wanted to share this with you all who are suffering, it may not work for everyone, but it will be worth a try!! Good Luck! x

Thanks, I've been told that aloe Vera can help? I bought the gel, and to be honest it makes me gag ! The taste is like nothing else I've tasted so disgusting, so had to stop, perhaps I could seek out some juice instead. It's so frustrating as I've never had this before and I'm concerned the op has damaged or done something, although the consultant has just informed me this is common and can last a few months. I just was hoping someone in here has had the same and came through it the other side,as when all this stuff is new, it's quite scary!! Thanks for your reply though, and I hope your okay now x

Hi Kim, Get yourself a nutri bullet and put the alow vera, lactulose and loads of prunes in it. Add strawberries and juice and its very pallatable.  I'm 8 weeks post op tvt & posterior repair and the smoothies and water ++ are a godsend.  I take 18 prunes a day & about 40mls lactulose - sounds like lots but the anxiety of not being able to poo is also present so it needs to be full on to work i think.  You could also try colonic irrigation (if GP agrees) you can buy simple kits from ebay just look like saline bags, this will ease immediate blockages until smoothies kick in.  Also you can buy micralax enemas online for the same thing.  You could be leaking due to impaction but the smoothies will help after a couple of days. Good luck.
