Now, at first you will most likely find your anxiety and depression will be heightened, some say they have a foggy head, an upset tummy and trouble sleeping. Now, my doctor told me to take it about 30 min before bed with a little food. I also have a friend that is on it, and her doctor told her the same. Neither of us have had these problems like others have that take them in the morning. It has helped both of us with sleep...I used to have an awful time with sleep!!
Time wise, everyone is different, but “they” say it takes about 5-7 weeks before it gets into your system...it seems to actually can take a bit longer before it fully works on your system. BUT, you will start to notice, even in the beginning, you will start to feel better, then you will feel you have taken a step...or 3 backward before you go forward again. This is all normal. The side effects are normal. I try to tell people that we didn’t get this way over night, so it will take time to “fix” us too. It can be a roller coaster ride, but if you stick with it, you will be so much better for it. A lot of people find that even though they do feel like they go backwards at times, they do see they are making progress. This is all part of the meds working on us.
Cital is a serious med, and you can’t just stop it, or up it at will. It all needs to be done with your doctor, and done slowly one way or the other, like you are already doing. And of course, if at any time you don’t feel it is working, or you are getting worse, make sure you keep in touch with your doctor. Just because one med works for some, does not always work for someone else. There are other meds out there that work too. But Cital is a good med, and is used most often as in the long run, it has the least amount of bad effects in the long run. This is what my doctor told me anyway. There are stronger ones, but I was worried about getting hooked on some weird drug that would cause health problems...I have enough of those...I just needed help with my mind to cope with things. Doc thought this one was the best for me.
Remember, you can always come here and post any questions you may have, there are a lot of really wonderful people here, with great advice! No one judges anyone here! And what is really nice is, we understand what others are going through, as we too are either going through, or have gone through it too. I am so glad I found this forum...it has helped me a lot! I wish you good luck!! Sending you a {{{{HUG}}}} as we all need those now and then!!!
