24/7 dizziness for the last 7 weeks and other symptoms

So I've had anxiety issues along with GERD issues for the good part of the last 2-3 years. Now it has reached a peak where I am feeling completely off kilter and do not know what is going on.

Last October I had tension headaches that were 24/7 all day. There were a few days I did not have them but after January or February, they became an all day thing where I had to lie down to sleep them off. I thought that was due to the anxiety of finishing university along with roommate situations. Come May after leaving and travelling to Europe, I felt fine up until the end of August where the headaches suddenly came back.

I had been working with a guy where I was using herbal remedies in order to rid the guy of bad bacteria from years of bad nutrition, except that it seemed like things just went downhill each and every time.

After a few weeks, I tried to workout on a stationairy bike but noticed anytime I was going up or down a hill I was getting the woozy feelings so I stopped that. Then of course one day out of the blue, not eating right being up for six hours and then having two sandwiches with american cheese on them and taking a little bit of Pau'd Arco, I began to feel dizzy.

Three days after this started, I visited my doctor but he just attributed it to anxiety and wanted to perscribe veiflaxine. I read up on it and was simply not convinced this would be any good. So I basically did not fill the prescription knowing something else was going on.

Reading up on many of these things, I decided to first try an ENT. Hearing was fine, nothing in the middle ear and forward. I had been wearing ear plugs each night for the last two years (ear buds moreso to filter out noise). I am not sure if that has been a contributing factor or not but it doesn't seem to be.

I saw a naturopath 4 weeks in and had blood work done with a CBC and CMP. I was told to take 2000 IU of D3 with food, add in a probiotic, and have 200 mg of magnesium before bed.

The CBC and CMP came back with slightly elevated RBC, Carbon Dioxide, Calcium, Albumin, Hematocrit, MPV and Ferritin.

This week, things have been taking a turn for the worst with having muscle cramps where I touch certain parts of my arm just before the elbow and it is inflammed. I noticed two days ago my legs cramping just from a slight walk, yesterday, below the belly button in the flank areas, today I am feeling the shoulders and it just doesn't seem to go away.

The guy who I was working with is thinking it is dehydration given the results and I have made sure to drink 3/4 to 1 gallon of water per day for the last 3-4 days but I have just been getting worse and worse and I am afraid I am having something a lot more serious that has not surfaced yet.

I am only a 23 y/o male going on 24, six months unemployed with an engineering degree.

Any thoughts?

I think,,to start with anyway, you need t get a referral to a Neuro Otologist as they deal  with things much more in depth than ENT's. ,I have had some of the same or similar symptoms as you amd have she away from all the medical type dogs as I know they have side effects and often make th vertigo, symptoms worse!   regarding the bad bacteria detox, situation. They do,often make younger, worse before you feel, better as the 'die off' has some effects so I am told!  rE,the GERD,my have that too, and I often wonder if that has a bit,to,do,with things although not sure how, but when t,is playing up my vertigo stuff is worse. I am getting some Cider Applle vinegar today as I have been told,it is great for GERD (I have Hiatus hernia, but I do not get acid reflux).  iN fact I am goin to look into things with my Gastro as to t getting it fixed surgically.  I doubt dehydration is the cause, but you do need to keep, hydrated.  bUt d get that referral as you will then get an MRI, which is mostly done to rule things ou, by could,be helpful if there is any damage in the vestibular area.  Keep us informed ok

You might have several "different" things going on.

Headaches, dizzyness, photophobia may be all related to perhaps silent migraines?

Muscle cramping or tension? If your muscles are tensed, perhaps due to anxiety, it could be issues with your neck that are setting off trigger points. Search "sternocleidomastoid" (SCM) to get an idea of how this muscle works.

Misalignment of neck can cause compression of nerves which lead to impairment of balance, vision, digestion and hormone regulation. For eg, a nerve compression in your neck can cause pain in your elbow and possibly middle and baby fingers. You wouldn't think it would be connected, but it can.

Not saying you have any of this, but it gives you something to read up on and discuss with your family dr at your next visit.

Good luck, take care, keep us posted smile

My MD GP wanted to just rule it as anxiety. Then prescribe me an analouge of an analouge of amphetamine for it. That doesn't solve the problems at all.

I will look further into the SCM route not sure if that is chiropractor or not.

yOur GP sounds like he is taking the 'easiest'option for him! But a GP cannot diagnose this kind of,problem  as the vestibular system is very complex and can only be diagnosed by a specialist who has studied it.  NEuro otologists, for example, study an extra four years to an ENT, as I have been told,,so even ENT's aren,t always the answer either as their specialty is as the ENT,stands for Ear. nOse and Throat.!  i should imagine SCM will be known quite well by bothChiropractors  and Osteopaths.

Totally agree with Gillian. Also physiotherapists will be very familiar understanding how a strained SCM can affect an individual. Personally, I have not had any success with an ENT dr. They will send you for vestibular balance testing and you may need to go that route as well to rule out any vestibular issues in relation to your inner ear. As someone else posted, dizziness can be caused from any number of issues and one will have to try a variety of frustrating avenues in order to have a better idea of where/what your problem stems from.

So the guy I was seeing recommended I try calcium citrate to see if that would help. I also took another 20 drops of Pau d'Arco

    Big mistake.

I am now having what is pretty close to restless leg syndrome.

I took about 200 mg of Magnesium in hopes of counteracting it but it is not working.

I am feeling trapped in my body where I cannot do anything about it.
