3 Prolapsed Disc's & Nine & Half month's on !!!

Posted , 4 users are following.

I am Nine & Half month's on from a simple fall which caused 3 prolapsed Disc's in my Neck.

The Orthopeadic Team at my Local Hospital have dismissed me and handed my case on to the Pain Management Clinic which means that they are not willing to take any further action.

I desperately need a second opinion but as I am on the Isle of Man they are not willing to send me to the UK for further consultation.

While they push pens and paper around I am in agony unable to work.

Is there any groups out there that might be able to help me.

Hi, I have had bad experience of Chiropracters in the past. I had a great osteopath who learned his trade in Japan but I have had little faith in anyone since.

After 2 treatments of chiropractics, i'm still not feelinf any better, but the chiropractor ask me to be more patient. He said it would takes about 3 months to see the improvements. I wonder do i still have to be more patient or try another treatment.....

It would take a very convincnig professional to get me to use this kind of treatment again but one bad experience is all it takes, I will say that he was particularly bad at his job.

Chiropractic is like any profession...go through recommendation, but in reply to Ivanwolf, chiropractic is not a quick fix, you can't expect to have two treatments and be feeling 100% improved....you must understand that your body has been compensating for months if not years which has lead to weaked muscles and ligaments and finally injury...this can not be changed in two 20 minute treatments...chiropractic works to help to restore mechnical function to your body which can then allow your body to heal itself...the body has an innate ability to heal itself but sometimes through injury and weakness it cannot do this...that is where chiropractic comes in.....chiro is not a cure it just assists your body to heal itself....be patient don't expect a quick fix when your body has probably been through years of stressor to the point of injury it is at now.

In the mean time grahammolyneux as you are on the isle of man you may want to try some home therapy options....a home cervical traction devise or an inversion table may give you some relief as long as you have no contraindications to using one...
