Hi ladies..

I've just found out that my "blocked bowel" that I thought I had is a 36cm cyst.

Very very painful, waiting on the hospital to get I touch as their trying to rush through an MRI scan and hopefully surgery without a waiting list.

Tell me I'm not the only one with a cyst this big? I need a little comradery here, how did you manage pain relief etc?

Please get in touch.

    Hi Jo,

my my cyst is smaller than yours, but I think the best thing for pain relief is definitely heat, whether a hot water bottle or hot bath it works a treat smile

hope they hurry your MRI up and you get it out ASAP ^.^

    take care sweetie

Hope they are getting you sorted. Looking for a positive you will look an awful lot trimmer once they get that one out! Mine was only 23cm, weighed in at 3kg, one dress size dropped.

Hi ladies, thanks for the replies..

Thought I'd update you, they sent me for a CT scan.. And then to see a consultant..

But unfortunately had to change my gynae consultant to an oncologist surgeon..

As it turns out when my blood text came back my CBC level was much higher than it was supposed to be, it's supposed to be 33 and mine was 160+

My ovary is enlarged and the cyst is abnormal.. When queried that.. He described it as if there is 3 levels of cyst. Benign, middle and malignant.. And apparently mine is more malignant than middle.

So although they can't say that I have cancer 100% until they removed and do a biopsy of the tissue, they've given me a McMillan nurse and told me not to worry lol..

So their giving me a full hysterectomy.. And taking tissue from my stomach, nodes and a few other "forgotten strange medicinal termed" places lol..

On a plus note the dr said if it is cancer, it doesn't look like its spread anywhere else so he's confident he can remove it all smile

Wow hope that it goes ok for you!! My cyst was found as a mass of fluid on a ultrasound after I got admitted to hospital back in April with suspected appendicitis

Wasn't until I had internals I was diagnosed with a 8cm possibly dermoid cyst on or in my right ovary.

I got told I had to have surgery as a only option to remove it. I finally had my op October 10th and the cyst had grown to 14cm and instead of keyhole I had to have open surgery having my lower stomach cut right across. They managed to save majority of my ovary. I was signed off work for 8 weeks and I don't have my follow up until 11th December. So apart from the pictures of what the surgeon took and showed me ( I took a photo off his photo ) I don't have any other information yet.

Hope it all goes ok for you tho and you recover fast.
