Hi all I’ve been managing my pain and excersizes but woke up today feeling really low and tearful gone back to bed. Anyone else felt like this? X

its natural Suki, most of us go through this stage. it will pass. You have had major surgery, your are not doing your normal routine and we all think we should be further ahead than we are. We all heal at different rates, organise some friends to visit you in short periods, watch a film that makes you laugh, start writing your Christmas cards if you send them or my favorite was online shopping! bought myself some nice clothes during that time i was off work smile

Yes, every single one of us without a doubt. You can't see light at the end of the tunnel, you're so so tired? The further the recovery goes you can start to see that light, I promise you. I've seen it at 9 weeks but everyone heals at a different pace so don't compare yourself to anyone else. That's the hardest thing. Take care, if you want to cry or sleep then do it. It only gets better x

And you'll probably be OK tomorrow. It's a hiccup. I was crying at everything sad and happy. Even adverts on the telly lol. I think my husband thought I was going mental 😂. X

Good old hubbies mines cooking and making Boxing Day for the whole family. That should be a joy to watch although my girls will help. A big BUT I’m not in the mood . I sound like a cranky old woman but not usually like this I’m a young 66 with a beautiful great granddaughter xxx

    This is very normal.

Your body and brain have been working hard at getting g better and just need a break. Be kind to yourself today. More rest, comfort food, extra chocolate and s big helping of I e cream. Cry if it will help.

It will go away shortly and you can get back to the grind of healing.

If this hangs on for a long period, talk to your primary care, not your surgeon, and see if they can get you some temporary relief.

Don't let anyone, family or friend, try to make you think you should be up and at em when you feel like this. Ha g in there, tomorrow will be a much better day

One advantage of being in the US today, its Thanksgiving and you're allowed by l a w to overeat and get fully absorbed in food that you don't normally take time to prepare.

Nothing like rich food to heal the blues.

What sort of pain management do you have in the US? Xx

After the normal post surgery stuff you can go to pain management centers. There, they can run additional tests, work with different combinations of meds, offer diversionary methods or recommend other specialist or possible additional surgery. Most of the Dr s are anesticists and often times work in surgery. My pain or spine group is based I side of a university medical center so are part of a teaching university. They also can recommend massage or specialized PT.

Most of us have days like that. Perhaps your body and mind are saying, "Please just let me rest today and not worry about anything."  I've been on a crying spree today.  It will pass.  We wish you the best.

Hi It's only natural to have a good cry after any major surgery It's much better than bottling it up inside and pretending your brave & strong.I had my right knee done two years ago and cried I'm due to have my left knee replaced and I'm already scared and crying. We all do it for whatever reason Sending a big hug to cheer you up
