Hi, I had a sacrosphinous  fixation 8 weeks ago. I also think my surgery has failed ! A few days ago  I felt a sharp pain on the righthand side of my abdomen and things have felt different since. It may be nothing but I am going to ring my consultants secretary  and see if I can see the consultant before the regular 12 week check up. Let's hope we are wrong! Keep thinking positively. Good luck when you go back to doctor in 2 weeks. Keep us informed.

Hi sandie. Was your sacrospinous fixation for a prolapse? I had it done in May following a vaginal hysterectomy and anterior and posterior repair.

Yes it was.  I had a hysterectomy and repair 8 years  ago.

Hi sorry to hear that but I fear mine has failed as well. Had it done in June. Be interested to hear how you go at the specialist

Hi just wondered what makes you think your has failed do you have that familar pressure and bulge back. I am more than convinced mine has failed it is like before the operation. Still 1 week to the specialst appt will report back but I am very reluctant to have another surgery will have to look at other options any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Pam.  Yes I can now feel a familiar bulge and things look just the same as before surgery. Not sure if it should be like that! It all seemed ok for a few weeks. I am going back to see consultant in 10 days so will see what he says. Good luck at your appointment.

Just thought I'd come in on this to say I had all these fears too at 4-5 months post op. I had to wait for appt due to shortage of staff but finally got one last week and I had my op in May this year. My consultant examined me thoroughly and said all had healed well including the SSF. I think it does take some time for all swelling to go and some ladies have said up to a year before they feel normal(ish)! rolleyes I have had some bladder issues but I'm trying the Vagifem,) Oestrogen replacement), small tablets which are inserted vaginally with an applicator. Our ligaments and tissues get weaker as we age and have little or no oestrogen to strengthen them. So don't give up hope yet it's early days and a long recovery for some of us. X smile
