Mornings still my worse. I wake up panicked the meds won't work because I feel so depressed and racing thoughts. Now completely worried about pregnancy and how I'll make it through with these hormones and pnd? sad is it still early to tell if they are working. I'm scared to up the meds because of the pregnancy but I'm miserable. I do have some good hours throughout the day and before pregnancy I was doing better so maybe the hormones are making me worse sad

Nicole,  I am so ssorry you are suffering so much!   I do understand about htepreganacy fear,,,,,  Im here to tell you from my experience,   when I had a traumatic miscarraige 19 yrs ago, i went on prozac,  .....I didnt have any significant side effects.  i got pregnant one month after the miscarriage,,,and had tewo other littel ones .   I was on praozac the enitire prenancy and worried the entire time about hte effects on the baby,  plus it was a difficult prenancy .  Remeber this was 19 yrs ago.  Well my baby was born healthy and now is an 18 yrs old  with a 4.0  gpa  in college for nursing!   Other than her eating disorder that was triggered by being bullies in school, she has always been healthy and excelled in school.  i hope that puts those fear to rest for you!   I hoep the side effects diminish for you!!  YOu deserve to be happy!  I have been back on prozac 20 mg for 5 months and i have horrible side effects now,,i cant tolerate going up in dosing, but i have the brain injury so I an affected very differently than when I was on 19 yrs ago.  Wishing you the best!!!

Thank you so much for your information. Was you well before you got pregnant or have to up the flu? I was doing better but not well on flu. Now with the pregnancy hormones I feel like I'm worse or more up and down.

I had the misccariage at 5 months pregancy and immediately fell into postpartum depression,,,,really really bad.    I   was able to stay at 20 mg ,,,I statred with 10 for a week and then went to 20mg, and remember somewhat that it was rough athe beginning because of the hormones, not only from the miscarriage but hen the immdeate pregnancy.   I am not sure what other antiperessants are safe for prenancies....  I  know prozac is pretty activating, ......i cant handel the activating properties right now, but others on the baord have done very well on it, and as I said, I did very well  being pregnant on it , it did take a while to work because  it  has a longer build up than some of the other ADs.   I dont know if the docotr can approve of something for you temorarily for the anxiety till the prozac really starts to work around 8 weeks,,,,,i know a prenant  womanwho was given buspirone (buspar)  along with her prozac to help with anxiety,,,,but you would have to check with your doctor.
