4 weeks and terrible gas pains

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had a laparoscopic colpopexy with vaginal posterior repair 4 weeks ago. I'm recovering well except I've had terrible gas pains and they're not improving. I've always been a gassy person. Is anyone else dealing with this? Everything  else is good. I still get tired and some pressure if I'm up and about too much. I'm resting a lot but the gas pains are bad. My bowels are working well.

This forum is great! So much support and information.

Thanks,

Pam

Hi... I haven't had gas pains.. maybe try a different laxative? What I do have is terrible buttock and sciatic pain. Can't stand on my feet for more than a minute without pain .. but it's only 2 1/2 weeks since my surgery so probably to be expected.

    Hello

you say you are usually gassy which could be due to underlying digestive issues. If food is not effectively broken down during digestion it can lead to excess gas. A course of probiotics could help, however it would be best to consult a qualified nutritionist, or better still a systemic kinesiologist to identify your particular situation. Hoping things improve soon, gas pain can be so excruciating.
