Still not back to normal 5 weeks post open haemorriodectomy for 3 external / 3 skin tags and Still sore and throbbing for hours after each bowel movement . It's bearable and manageable but it's just relentless! It just seems this last recovery phases is taking forever ! Still taking medication to keep stools soft as I can't imaging being constipated and passing harder stools . Going to see surgeon in a few weeks so maybe by then it will all be back to normal ? Fi gets crossed

I can relate.. This is insane. Im going in my 7th week.
Went back to work last week and by Friday I was which felt like week 2 out of surgery.
Now off work again as im in two much pain when i use the toilet at work.
Don't know about you but my 2nd week I had eternal roids AGAIN! And still have them to this day.. Three types of creams nothing helping. My butt is on fire witb itch n pain all day long..
My stool has never been hard as i take a fibre drink daily and have been for about 2 yrs now..
Heme roids due to life of constipation and last 8 month's blood in stool n bowl which needed to be seen again 2nd opnion by colorectal doc.. Since in my family there is colon cancer n chrones.. So main reason i had this surgery and dealing with internal n external roids for over 20 yrs..
Let me know your progress plz
Every one has a different way of healing and different story here..
I went and got some cream from walmart called zincofax.. Baby cream for rash to take the sting n burn away.. I will let u know if its working. The other creams just irritate it more and if its fissures i have which i have no idea as ive never experienced these then those perscribe creams wont work I've heard ...
Hope we get over this soon.
It has really affected my quality of life and im getting very depressed having to deal with the pain daily after each bm..
Good luck.n let me know how you are doing.

Gosh , sounds like you are going through a rough time
I seriously think this surgery is underestimated and it takes longer to recover and heal than you are led to believe! Having said that , I expect more people will tell about a bad experience than a good one ! I now know why my surgeon Dosent want to see me until 8 weeks post surgery , it's so I don't try to strangle him !
I'm trying to keep on top of keeping my stools soft and easy to pass , taking lactose twice daily and coloxy / senna as well as Metamucil daily . Like you I'm trying to eat more fibre and keeping on top of drinking at least 1.5-2 litres water a day . I'm also still finding standing up passing stools easier too and sitting in Epsom salts post movement . I really didn't think I'd still be having to do all this still 5 weeks on . The throbbing and burning is so frustrating and lasts for hours after , but I must say Ive improved a lot over the last couple of weeks . I returned to work after 2 weeks and found it hard as Im a nurse and so doing a very physical job but I think I'm better off when I'm moving / doing something rather than sat down as the symptoms are worse when doing nothing
I've also got aching around my coccyx and find it really uncomfortable sitting in certain positions, so I'm thinking something has happened through the surgery causing this . I'll have to wait until I see my surgeon next month and ask . I'm nearly healed up down there , I feel like I've got a little bump on my back Passage that could be a haemorrhoid
I'm sorry to hear you're still recovering and I can empathise with you totally . It really is the worse most painful thing I've ever experienced and I don't think there's much support in recovery for this surgery . I wish you well and I hope you begin to turn a corner soon
