and lower back pain. I saw my surgeon 3 months after op I also had hysterectomy and anterior prolapse repair and 6 months before posterior prolapse repair, I explained about the pain and she said to see my G.P as the pain would not be to do with surgery. But I was fine until I had these surgerys, I have another appointment next week with gyni surgeon and am still experiencing pain it sometimes feel like pressure on my bladder, I have had 3 month course of hrt pessaries. Please can anyone help, I do not want to be told again its not to do with op, I had none of these problems before these 2 ops

    Hi Lesley

It's so hard isn't it when you know yourself something is wrong and just feel like you are being ignored.

Have you been examined since the pain started !? Are they confident that the prolapse repair is still holding !?

I'm not familiar with the HRT pessaries as I take tablets.

i always think though that we know are bodies better than anyone and as tiring as it is you just need to keep hassling them until they listen xx

Thank you for your reply, what do you say when the person you think should be able to help just says it has nothing to do with the surgery, no doubt I will be examined when I go but am dreading it already as I feel they really are not interested, doctor says speak to surgeon and surgeon says speak to doctor. I am just in pain

How awful for you. I believe our bodies know best and that we should listen to them and not let others put us off. Tell your specialist just how you feel. Explain you are not looking to blame the surgery just to get some relief from the pain. If he dismiisses you again explain that your doctor insn't any help either and ask to be refeered to another specialist, even in the same field explain that if he or she can't help they won't mind if you go get another opinion. In mean time try and stay postive get planty of rest and hopeful you get some answers and relief from the pain real soon. This site is so helpful .Hope you get the answers you seek.

Hi lesley, it's as if I had written this post myself, so I understand exactly wot u r saying, I have suffered the most horrendous pain low in my tummy since my op just over 17 weeks ago. My consultant is saying also nothing to do with op, but like u it wasn't there before. A few weeks ago I saw a locum Dr who asked me to try gabapentin tablets and the relief has been enormous. It's still there but manageable now and allowing me to do most things. Please do see ur gp and ask if these would help u too. X
