6 Month Update.. Stay with it!!

Just thought I would give an update, so many people only post their first few weeks experiences and forget to actually come back once its working and report back so you mainly only see negative experiences on here...

So bottom line..  I feel Great!!  For me I would say around 8-12 weeks I started feeling motivated again.. that said I still had the odd wobble but I was feeling positive and was able to ride out any "wobbles" I had.

It'd been 6 months now (26 weeks) and I can tell you that these tablets work..  I'm actually in a really good place now, been discussing with the wife about renewing our vowels and even planning other stuff for the future, my point is 6 months ago I was ready to give up..  So please stay positive and don't spend too much time reading the horror stories as they make you worse.. you start panicking more and over thinking everything! That said you should at very least start a journal/diary on here and talk to people as it will help and keep yourself busy and don't be tempted to stay in bed as I did many times!!

I'm now at a stage where I don't have any side effects and I don't even know I'm on them other than actually physically taking them every night so eventually your body adjusts and the side effect will disapeer.

Now for you guys out there...

the main side effect I'm sure your all know what I'm talking about wink

I still suffer with it but it gets better..  just space it out and don't think to much about it.  my wife is very understanding and we found ways to get around it so it's not impossible to still maintain a healthy sex life you just need to improvise a little :D

Oh thank you!!!!! It’s so nice I hear. I’m 4 and a half week in (3 weeks 20 mg and 1 1/2 week 30 mg) and I was beginning to loose hope as I’m still super super anxious.

Am I right that you felt bad up until around week 8 or did you see small glimpses of light?

I think the worse week for me was around week 5 because I thought I was getting better but then I had a week of waking up axious again and even posting on here that i was struggling which btw helped coming on here. I had a mixture of bad and good days and probably more bad than good but eventually as it got closer to the 8th week and beyond the good overtook the bad days and before I knew it I was feeling good again and even if I had the odd wobble which was usually self inflicted by overthinking I would get myself into a routine of riding it out and like I said above I'm in a good place now and believe me I was far from it a few months ago..  So I know how you are feeling.. please don't give up it just takes time but it will happen.

So to answer your question I started having good days from week 5-6 but more towards 6 as 5 was a bad week tbh. So from 6 to 8 was a mixed balance and 8 onwards was a slow but definate climb to overall good days constant.

28 days on Prozac 20mg. Your response is so positive. The anxiety for the past 2 weeks has been horrible. I have to take .25 Klonopin when I wake up. When did the anxiety start to ease for you. The first 2 weeks were better than the 2nd two. Sleeping better I must say. Thanks again it gives me hope.

it didnt switch on overnight.  it was a combination of bad with a few good days and slowly the good days increased and the bad days became just mornings or after eating etc and it just got better as each week completed. I think I really noticed it after 6 weeks because I had a few abd days in week 5 which made me doubt weeks 3 and 4 lol..  Anyway from around 6-7-8 weeks it really starts to ease i would say.

Have you been substituting the calm drink for the .25 Klonopin. It doesn’t do much and I refuse to up it to .50.

yes still slugging away.  The mood has improved, the wretching in the AM still there but it is gradually getting better

Not substituting, but rather complimenting it.  i bring some to work and mix up a mug when I feel some anxiety coming on.  It does not totally rid me of anxiety, just makes it more bearable at work.

      My dosing schedule for the klopoin is as follows;

      .25 mg Sunday

      .25 mg  Monday

      none on Tues or Weds

      .25 mg Thursday

All in the evening before I retire to bed.

Also I do a full teaspon of the calm drink in a mug each night at around 7:30 whether or not I take the Klonopin.

Also what has helped, thankfully, is warmer weather where I can get  out more. Working in my yard has helped.

Also the Prozac is working in terms of the dark depressive mood but I still struggle with the anxiety at times but that also is getting a tad better.

      Stay strong and positive!

      Thanks Ben,

My energy is much better now, I planted 3 forsythias yesterday and have been working in the garden and running errands everyday. I am retired so I don’t have to worry about getting to a job. I am on day 35 now. Just dealing with the anxiety side effects are not a problem.  I will use the klonipin if I need it and not worry about getting off it now?

I asked my doc the same thing.......he said one would have to take a .5 mg dose 3x a day for several weeks to become dependent on it.

Lynn, I am so envious! You planted 3 bushes!  I would love to be able to do that. I am also retired and don’t have to keep a schedule.

I think for the time you have been on Flu, you’re doing great and it won’t be long before you are 100%.

      What is a calm drink?
