Congratulations Nell, another step over with.  Do you mind me asking, did he give you a full check up or just watched how you walked? I will be having my check in a couple of weeks, just wondering if they physically check you, do they have a look at the scar too?

Hi Lynn, I didn't actually see the surgeon I saw head Physio, she looked at scar , layed on bed and just go see if my hip was responding, to certain  Movements. If there were any problems she was going  to get doctor, but Than God all was well.

good luck in your 6 week check xxx

I wonder if that's who I will see then., at least they checked you over.

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, will be 10 weeks when I get my check. Going really quick.

Hi Nell pleased to hear your recovery is going well. I see my surgeon at 6 weeks and thought this would be standard practice after a THR. I suppose this depends where you live, I am in the UK.

I also see the physio every 2 weeks and have done since my operation nearly 5 weeks ago.

Did you see your x ray and we're you given details of your new hip joint.

    Best wishes

Hi Nell I am in Leeds and had my operation in a private hospital funded by the NHS. Before I left hospital an appointment to see my surgeon was made for my 6 week post op date.

I've had 2 visits back to the hospital for physio, they had me of an exercise bike last time. I've another visit with physio on Monday then following week with surgeon.

It's strange how everyone is treat differently.

I had an x ray before I left hospital but have not seen anyone to discuss whether it was ok. I guess it must of been.

Do you have any restrictions in place now?

      Best wishes

Hi Sue, no restrictions , I asked if I can go back to gym and waterwork out they said yes, just let your body tell you if it's too much. 7 weeks today some days I feel on top of the world like todsy I am aching in both legs and bum, for  some reason, getting me down a bit, going to try gym next week

Hi Nell so pleased you are doing ok. It's abit of an emotional roller coaster with the highs and lows. Still trying to get my head round why I have restrictions in place for 12 weeks. It sets back your recovery can't wait to be normal again lol if ever I will be.

      Take care enjoy the freedom

    Hi Nell

Great news!  You are doing so well and the fact that the doctor doesn't want to see you for another 4 months is a great plus!

Well done and all the best.
