6 week check up at surgeon just released

after 6 weeks of careful downtime I had my appointment with the surgeon who repaired my prolaspe rectum and vagina. I have not had a bad time at all and no pain. He was surprised at my rapid recovery and during physical exam cut away some "proud flesh" with a scissor and cautorized the small snip with a substance on the end of a wooden stick. it burned a little for 24 hours.

he releaaed me and warned me of new size of vagina and to be careful.

I do not have a job that is strenuous or lift much. i do travel a lot and must drive 3 hours some times.

i think my recovery will continue as i begin my walking everyday and start back with light chores. I am in the USA so I realize the timing is different but I feel great and am veey happy with surgery results. I was glad to find this site for questions that came up during and after. God bless your help.

christine don't be alarmed if your pain or discomfort gets worse over the next few weeks. If you look at previous posts on this forum you'll see I often mention that it's quite normal because the sutures tighten before they dissolve and as they knit the wound together it can become more uncomfortable. Take pain relief and don't be a martyr. Have you read the Useful Resource post on the Genitourinary home page? There's some excellent information there.
