Hi Margaret, we are at similar stage post op. Although I was told initially sex would be OK from 6 weeks, I did not feel well enough to try. I had post op check at 7 weeks and told healing was progressing but slowly. I was told no sex, exercise, etc until checked again at 12 weeks. My insides are just too tender and sore at the moment. I hope though things improve and that intercourse will be possible and pleasurable, seems a distant prospect at the moment.

    Hi folks

Nor sure how to use this site.  I am 6 weeks post repair for a posterior repair, the surgeon also performed a SSF too.  I am not too bad in myself although have had an infection which has been treated.  My main problem is the fact that no one told me how long I would have stitches in for.  The pamphlet given to me at the pre op said 2 - 4 weeks. I am now at 6 weeks and when I saw the GP he said it would be some time yet before the stitches dissolve.  The main problem I have and can't find an answer to is that whenever I have a bowel movement (aided by lactulose) I bleed from my vagina. Not a lot but it is fresh and it worries me. I have been back to GP but they just offered me more anti biotics.  I think I might have  some leakage from a stitch, oh and by the way it is all very tender in that area.  Suggestions please.

I'm  6 weeks too. Do you have a post op appointment with your surgeon? I have mine next week. I had a little bleed last week for a couple of days which I assumed was maybe the stitches dissolving but this was the first bleeding since week 1. The deeper SSF stitches last 3 to 4 months although someone on here said theirs were permanent so you might like to check that out. If you don't have a post op appointment booked I would ring the hospital and request one. Wishing you well. X

Hi I am sure your feelings are similar to many of us. I found I would have a day with nothing then watery pink blood discharge and other days fresh spotting of blood on pad or after using the loo. This was as my stitches were dissolving.

Swelling for me has just settled at 6 weeks and we all heal at different rates.one day I will feel pretty good and the next I’m shattered and a bit down. Hope you get more comfy really soon. It’s a long road but hopefully worth it for ya all long term.

Thanks for your reply . I do feel that the lack of honest information given to me at the time of the op would have helped. Saw GP yesterday and he agrees I need to see surgeon. Now let's see how long that takes. I do appreciate the support on this forum . It gives the truth.

Hi - although there was a delay in supplying my Vagifem prescription by about 2 weeks, mine has now arrived. I am hoping it was just a temporary supply issue. I am in Berkshire, UK
