hi well I'm 8 weeks into an increase to 40mg of citalapram and I feel exactly the same as you. I do feel better mentally but the nausea and physical symptoms are dragging me down. I'm sorry that's probably not much help. I'd also like to know if it's normal this far in? good luck!

Hi lloyd, the tablets are working, that's why you are feeling nauseous. Antidepressants raise serotonin levels in the brain, serotonin is also involved in multiple functions throughout the body, including nausea. By having nausea,it indicates that the Citalopram is raising your serotonin levels and thereby doing its job. My experience with these medications is that from week 8- 12 I feel worse than week 4-8. After week 12 things start to calm down and slowly improve. I think the first 12 weeks are the worst. You should be looking very much long term on these medications, staying where you are on the dosage and same medication. Unfortunately this time of year is stressful and depressing with the weather and Christmas and the pandemic. You have to take all these things into consideration as everyone feel the effects at this time of year. Look forwards to having improvements in 2022,feel positive that you are on the correct medication, keep going and you will get better. Take care.
