I had my GB removed about 9 weeks ago, simple 45 minute laproscpoic surgery. I was doing okay at week 6 sticking to low fat diet only consuming turkey and grilled chicken and eatling lots of green stuff and drinking only water. at week 8 it started to get bad again it felt like my chest was going to explode and my stomach was doing flips. I became nauseaus after about 11am everyday. I called my Family medicine Doctor yesterday and their response was to take 1 ranitidine twice daily before eating and that was it not concerned at all. Anyone else had these symptoms on this timeline does it get better or is it something I will have to manage the rest of my life. I'm 25 so I don't really want to deal with it the rest of my life.

Hi Ariah, I'm not as far along a you are but from everything I've read its probably the body adjusting. If it doesn't improve you should go and see a doctor and have some bloods taken to make sure that you haven't got an infection. Did you have stones? If so is there one elsewhere in the ducts.
I would ask for some bloods to be done and see what happens after that.
Let me know how you get on x

I had mine out in May of 2015. The next two months were great, and then it hit.
Everyone is different, so your experience may not be the same as mine.
It took a long time, but I am better and can now function.
Stay positive and be sure to eat and drink water. Be careful what you eat.
Take care.

How long do you have to watch what you eat. Mine has been 2 months & all was well then the pain came back

Hi Gayle, don't forget you've had major surgery so introduce other foods gradually and only in small amounts to see how you body reacts as it has to learn to work without a gallbladder now.
I've had quite a varied diet but I haven't touched any fried foods or very rich foods but I have managed a mild curry and also nachos and I'm 10 wks post op.
Its all a case of trying it to see I'm afraid but don't overdo it. It will take months for your body to heal entirely.
Take care.
