A lump in my throat

Hi I also have Costochondritis but think I may also have acid reflux. Does anyone have a lump in the throat mouth gets dry and I have difficulty swallowing. I also have a white film on the the back of my tounge. Get slot of chest pain and sore ribs. Any advice would be appreciated 😊

    I had costochondritis to I also have acid reflux I just got the light put down my throat I felt better yesterday but my meds got me feeling bad today do you have anxiety with your as well

      Hi thank you for your reply. I don’t have anxiety but I do get stressed about certain things

    It could it could be reflux. Have you tried taking anti acids? If that helps calm down the symptoms then a clue to taking Zantac OTC meds . Liquid anti acids helps quickly. 

    Usually with acid reflux burning sensation in throat occurs. 

    Muscle relaxers anti inflammatory meds can help settle down rib and sturnum.

    the white coat on tongue could be from oral yeast infection or from throat irritation.

    see your doctor for diagnosis. Best to not self diagnose and many can help with the symptoms you have but not med professionals.

      Thank you for your reply I’m seeing a Gastroenterological specialist on Thursday so fingers crossed I get some answers. I am on anti inflammatory meds

    Yes on every symptom.  Like others, I suffer from anxiety too.  Diagnosed with reflux 10 years before I was diagnosed with anxiety.  I never thought that I suffered from anxiety. In the beginning, I would have laughed that thought off.  Trouble swallowing was my first GERD symptom.  Later pain.  Just giving you a heads up because anxiety symptoms and Gerd symptom can be identical.  One can cause the other.  If you over breath because you feel out of breath it can give you Costochondritis.  The white tongue thing is also common when you get dry mouth.  All of this could be caused by both anxiety and Gerd.  What came first?  The chicken or the egg?  Just giving you what I wish that knew 20 years ago.

      Thank you for your reply. I got really ill at Christmas severe chest pain rushed into hospital twice had lots of ecg’s heart scan angiogram blood tests they say my heart is fine but I still get erratic heart beats. After seeing many baffled doctors one said it points to Costochondritis my rheumatologist said it’s possible but wasn’t really helpful. Then a few weeks later I felt I couldn’t swallow very scary I also have an awful clicking sensation in my throat when I swallow. Then the lump in my throat followed. I don’t know what’s worse the awful clicking or the lump

    Hi Shelley. I've had a lump in my throat feeling for about 3 months now. I do take Omeprazole which I've done for years but never had a lump before. It's driving me crazy.  Yesterday it wasn't there, today it's horrendous and I've done nothing different.  Been to my GP 3 times with no outcome. I'm so depressed I want to cry all the time. I'm scared it's something really bad now and don't want to go back to my gp

      HI Pam I know exactly how you feel some days it’s so bad I struggle to swallow I’ve also had mine around 3 months I’ve also got an awful clicking noise in my throat some days it really hurts. And like you I feel it’s something more. I go to see a Gastroenterological specialist on Thursday I will let you know what they have to stay. Stay strong I’m sure it’s something to do with reflux
