A Period after Menopause

Hi , I am 46, (alomost 47 ) I have had menopause symptoms from being 38 & now not had a period for 18months, I have been tested and was told I am through the menopause (My mum was the same age and my cousin is too ) ..
So 2 days ago I started a minor bleed, its progressed a bit and is still here. I wondered if this is normal ? I had a bit of something red for a day about a month ago… Do we get releases like this after its finished ? Just wondered , thanks for reading x

I think if you start bleeding after monopause, you are supposed to go in and see why. it could be indicitive of other problems. Don't ignore it. I don't want to wrry you, but get a pap smear to be on the safer side.

Just tell the doctors office what's going on and they will tell you the next step. If you haven't had a pap smear in a while, you do need that too. But you need to be sure they know you've started bleeding again.

I did. I was about 2 years, maybe even 3, post menopause and had a period. I had a couple of tests and all was fine. My doctor thought it was just a surge of estrogen. Some people actually ovulate one last time. Or since you're still so young, it's possible you aren't actually quite on the other side of menopause. You do need to check with the doctor though just to be on the safe side.

You're very welcome. Blood tests show one point in time. But our hormones are fluctuating like crazy at this time.

Dr said 1-25 is normal and a normal period
26-138 tells the DR where we are on the monopause
I am 103 , thats why he said way off the scale ....
I will make enquiries tomorrow, thanks for all your answers :-)
