Ladies, do you find that if your having a bad spell of fibromyalgia pain that your period pain is a lot worse.

I've had a painful couple of weeks, and have woken up with the most horrendous stomach cramps this morning.

Is there any link?

    Hi there.

I find that it works the other way round-or at least that's what I thought.

I tend to have very heavy periods. And for at least a week before I'm due on I have terrible night sweats and wake up wet through and shivery, sometimes so bad that I have to sleep on a towel until I can get the bed changed in the morning.

The stomach cramps when I actually start are so bad that sometimes I can't get up. I also seem to have long periods-at least 7 days.

I have tried allsorts of natural remedies to try and help with the pain but find the best thing is still the old fashioned water bottle on my belly or back  to ease the cramps.

I haven't been on the pill for several years as my husband and me wanted more children-we have one aged 11, but with all the medication I take I seriously doubt that it's going to happen now so may go to gp to see if a pill cud regulate them a bit.

Yet another pill to take! :-/ good luck xx

I find that my fatigue is quite bad a few days before my period. I do get bad cramps but always have taken ibuprophen right away before they get bad.  I just began taking meloxicam for pain so I can't take ibuprophen. I got worried when I started and felt a little crampy , thank goodness the meloxicam is working for that too. Wish I had something to get rid of the sluggish feeling.
