Hello all, I need your help. I have abdominal pain for over 5months now.
Initially I did endoscopy which showed mild gastritis and moderate hpylori. I have been on ppi and antibiotics for several weeks yet the pain does not go away. Antacids and proton inhibitors(ppi) does not relieve the pain.
Another endoscopy shows there was no ulcer.
I did a series of blood test which came back normal. Just slight anemia. I am eating a lot of healthy food/fruit but not gaining weight. I have lost about 2kg within these 5months. I did MRI which came normal. 3months later, I had a CT scan which reported a soft tissue mass at the epigastric region inferior to the pancreas. Though the report stated that the pancreas was normal and showed no problem. My doctor said he does not believe the result of the scan result and ordered a review from another lab. The 2nd Lab review the images of the CT scan and reported that there was no abnormality.
I recently had more blood test for the kidney, liver and pancreas. The results came back normal except blood amylase. The upper limit of amylase for the lab is 115 but my level is 190.
However, the lipase level is within normal range.
The doctor said the value was not so significant to have cause any pain related to my pancreas.
The pain is relieved by eating. I don't have problem with eating. However, I do have to eat every 3-4hrs or else the pain is worse when my stomach is empty.
The pain is like a peppery pain in my lower left or right abdomen.
It's as if a peppery solution was poured into my intestine.
I have done stool test and no hpylori was found. No bleeding.
The pain is not relieved by PPIs or antacid.
Valium (diazepam 5mg) relieves the pain in the night when I have to sleep with no eating for 8hrs.
Please anyone with similar advice or help?
Some doctors I met feel it's anxiety and gave my amitriptyline. I used it few days and did not see any result.
Please help

I have been having the same issues. Had every test done but another scope. Which I had a few years back. The doctors now think that it's anxiety and I have just started to take citalapram 10mg daily and lorazapam when ever needed. Just after a few days i got my appetite back and I don't notice the pain all that much anymore. Hopefully another week on the meds I should be better. I should say that they did find polyps on my gullbladder and depending on which doctor I have spoken to they have different thoughts on if it should be removed. I am going for pre op on Tuesday and discuss with the surgeon my options

Thanks for your message. Through what test did your doctor dectect the polyps?
