Hi All Hope this information will be of some help to you. I signed up at my local able world a couple of weeks ago. Its a shop that sells different aids to help the disabled. If you register with them on some items you pay no vat and on some items you pay the full price. I brought a wheel chair full price was £202 I paid £181. I brought some grabers to enable me to get things off the shelf and also if I drop anything on the floor to save bending. They cost me £4.19 with vat taken off. also a coccyx cushion for the car. had to pay full price for that It was £19.99. I also have a bath board which I sit on for showering. If we can buy aids to help us in our daily lives and get some money off then thats a bonus and worth signing up to. my husband filled my form in for me he put on the form fibromyalgia. all will be explained to you when you go in the shop hope this helps you all. gentle hugs take care x

Hi kaz....that's interesting to know. I just wanted to add my two pennyworth about things that help. I recently got introduced to something called sports tape. I have tried using it in a couple of troublesome areas and must say my pains have slightly improved. More of a stopgap until I can get to see a rheumatologist to learn how to manage my pain but for now it is helping

Hi anne able world ive found to be very helpful and helped me to choose the wheel chair for me and allowed my husband to push me around the shop in 4 different wheel chairs. so that we both found the 1 that suited us both. with him being over 6ft he didnt want to be hunched over. Ive been happy with what Ive brought from their and their service and friendlyness, I certainly recommend them take care

Hi Kaz and forum members I get most of my disability aids from Complete care which include in particular plug tugs, elastic shoelaces for my son and it s amazing the selection of useful items they can provide me with and every time due to first order arriving damaged get 5 percent discount so this may be another site of interest to many.  I also get my dry wipe dressings and a lot health and household necessities from gospels healthcare and these do many cups and non spill beakers too.  Both worth a look.  I suffer with very sore painful hands and started also getting many electric shocks from the many cars in contact with and a lot of joints cracking too and whilst doing long email to MP last night my right leg from calf to thigh at the back went into spasm not sleeping and up again at 4 am for loo then got up for good at 5.30 to crack on with today. Must stop going on but do all take a look very reasonable too.  Julia
