I'm on day 3 of a 10 day holiday and I'm googling flights home.
I'm away with my partner, the 3 kids and my partners parents.
I have severe anxiety anyway and it has been worse since booking this trip.
I'm currently sat on my own in the hotel room freaking out. Tummy has been 'off' today as I had bread this morning(IBS) but partners dad has been sick this afternoon so now I'm panicking that I'm genuinely ill and that we're all going to get ill.
I so wanted to enjoy this bloody holiday but I knew this would happen!
My heart palpitations are back too-not had them for a few days now. I don't want to take my beta blocker either in case that makes me ill!
Someone get me on a flight back to England!!

Please stay calm, it's ok. Just try and take deep breaths. Do you have mindfulness on your phone as app. Try downloading and listen to it. Imagine your sitting near a lake and all your problems are passing by.
Eat dry food but drink lots of water. It's ok it's just your anxiety and fear playing tricks with you.
I have been there. It gets better slowly x

I'm ok ish at the mo. Watching a film in bed while everyone is out to dinner. They'll be back soon though... but I'd much rather just be left on my own. Only me to worry about, instead of 5 of us!
I have a really good anxiety app but can't listen yet as I have to listen out for the door(only one key!) will hopefully be able to listen when going to sleep.
I see no end to this anxiety. It's morphed health anxiety since my dad died last year.
Life can be pretty hard work since then
Thanks so much for replying x

I was like that last week, went to Switzerland to see our son , wanted to come home but stuck it out , had to really seeing as we were visiting our son . I was fine , it's just so stupid how this anxiety makes us feel . When you get back you will say to yourself why did I worry !!
Take care & enjoy your holiday

Thank you. What I really need to say when I get back is 'remember how anxious you were, don't go abroad again!!' Haha. I feel like this every time we go abroad. Don't know why I put myself through it?! I like the idea of going abroad. But the reality terrifies me!
I'm putting a brace face on for the kids but it's so hard... I must look like such a lazy mummy as all I want to do is sit still/sleep and wait for our flight home.

Feel for you . When we went to Switzerland last December I had trouble breathing & when I got back to uk I was rushed to hospital had to have open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve , it was very scary . Been suffering with anxiety ever since
please enjoy your holiday, where are you ? Xx

Did exactly the same thing sat in bed and wanted to shut my eyes all the time. It's ok to that sometimes I did.
I came back from holiday 3 weeks ago and had the worst time. The resort was lovely it's just a shame that we let this fear get to us.
Came back and saw my pyschitrist upped my meds. It's so hard but I know how your feeling.

I'm starting anti-ds when I get home. Didn't fancy the early side effects while I was away.
Rosemarie, I'm so sorry you went through that. Must have been awful! I had an ecg about a week before I came here. Thank god it was normal. I wouldn't have come if it wasn't!
I'm in hot and sunny Cyprus x

I think it's the worst thing I have ever had to endure , but I didn't have any choice & I am still here which is the main thing .
I like Cyprus been their a few times so just enjoy if you can .
best that you don't start ads till you get home, I hate the side effects did start taking some but made me feel so ill I stopped taking them xxx

Sertraline is amazing. Stick with it the side effects can be pretty bad to start with but it does get better and once they do it works!
For now tho try looking back at all the other panic attacks you've had and tell your self that nothing bad happened to you it's just felt horrible. That sometimes helps me. Enjoy the rest of your holiday xx

Hi, i survived another day. Only another 6 to go! Haven't really eaten much today. Hoping I feel more like myself tomorrow.
I'm strangely looking forward to starting the anti-ds. Pretty scared of the initial effect it could have on me though. I have 3 kids so I don't really 'have the time' to feel like crap! But, you have to speculate to accumulate!
Thanks for checking in x

When I was away on holiday I tried to structure my day the best I could. Let hubby sort kids out, you need to try and meditate and relax .
If you need reassurance just reach out. These forums are great.
