Hi all, 6 weeks post op THR , getting along well, not using any crutches indoors, only one when I go out . Do anyone else get this terrible Ache in both legs, when sitting or lying own. Sitting here at the moment with hot water bottle on both legs, from knees down. Really finding this extremely uncomfortable .

I've not had that experience. Since you are having the pain in both legs, it may not have anything to do with the THR. Where exactly is the pain? Have you checked with your surgeon about it yet?

If it were me, I'd start using my walking aids again for awhile and take it easy to see if the pain goes away. If it does, that might be a clue for you to be doing less activity until more healing takes place.

Oh yes - many of us get that - it's you using muscles that have been dormant or misused for ages.  They complain to you about being told to work in the way they were meant to before you had your hip pain symptoms.

    Hi Nell,

I agree with previous comments - our, well my body was in such a sad state that every muscle and what not was/is involved in this recovery process -

I know this and still moan and groan - the effort it takes to just stand up straight, or sit , let alone walk and other things is gigantic - to keep my body in balance she has to rely on legs, from top to all the way down - sometimes my toes hurt because I hold on to ??? for dear life - so, when I lie down, stretch out ??? whoa ... muscle spasms, especially in legs and back - Sometimes I rub some muscle achy cream on them and hoping it will go away - hot water bottle is soothing -

    Catch 22 right ?

the bad part is that over all we feel good and want to move on - we think we should be able to just get uo and go ... but noooo, not yet -

again, take your time, be patient and kind to your self -

    big warm hug

    renee
